Importance of Luck!!

I have always wondered the importance of good luck in one's life!! How important is it to be lucky.....when I look at Sachin Tendulkar whom the whole India and all the cricket plying nations admire, I do believe that it's sheer talent!! and of course all the hard work that has made him what he is today!! It's important to be at the right place at the right time..to be at the right place at the right time, one needs to be lucky :) Sachin was lucky in a way that he was born to the parents who encouraged him to take up his passion as profession, he was lucky that he was born in Mumbai, imagine sachin being born in a remote village somewhere!! would he have even come to know that there is a cricketer inside him?? He was lucky to get a coach like Ramakant Achrekar who recognized the talent and encouraged him with his practice sessions which used to go on till late in the evening at Shivaji Park. He was lucky to study in Sharada Vidya mandir which encouraged kids playing cricket. So that's the luck part in Sachin's life and then it was not possible for him to achieve all the success and fame without hard work! [but naturally] he did not become complacent with the success! Success did not go to his head, his head was and still is firm on his shoulders. Sometimes I wonder from where does one get the motivation when one has achieved so much in life!! It's not money any more, its not the fame!! He has it all, I guess it has to be the love for the game! He just loves to play cricket and he gives it 100%.

As we talk about luck, one person comes to my mind and that's MANDIRA BEDI. Well!! I'm not comparing her with Sachin, I must be crazy doing that!! As discussed earlier, Sachin has tremendous talent and he grabbed the opportunity that he got and never looked back! And well, look at Mandira Bedi, Sony television wanted a female anchor, they just called her [wasn't it luck???] when there are so many better faces around!! :) She knew a bit about cricket!! Well most of us Indians know a little more I guess!! She wore skimpy clothes, then there are lots more available in the industry today who do the same!! And there she goes!! She gets to go to all the countries around, she gets to meet cricket legends, she gets to sit on the same Dias and she gets lots of bucks for doing that!! Well, she has improved a lot since last world cup, she isn't as uncomfortable as she used to be. Doesn't the improvement come naturally when you do the same job again and again? Boy.....is it luck or what??
